Spanish gross-to-net salary calculator

Estimate your monthly take-home pay in Spain from your gross annual salary: the calculator deducts social-security contributions and an estimated income-tax (IRPF) withholding, then spreads the net amount over 12 or 14 payments.

Rough estimate. The real IRPF withholding depends on your autonomous community, full family situation, disability, mobility and other factors. This calculator applies the general national+regional scale and the basic allowances. For the exact figure, use the Spanish Tax Agency's withholding tool or consult an adviser.

What is deducted from a Spanish payslip

Two main blocks are deducted from the gross salary. The first is social-security contributions paid by the employee (around 6.5% of the contribution base, up to a cap): common contingencies, unemployment, vocational training and the MEI. The second is the IRPF withholding, an advance payment of income tax that depends on your earnings and personal circumstances.

IRPF is progressive by brackets: each slice of your taxable base is taxed at its own rate, from 19% up to 47% on the combined national and regional scale. Beforehand, deductible expenses, the earned-income reduction (for low salaries) and the personal and family allowances are applied, which is why two identical salaries can end up with different net pay.
